Old (1970) Handmade Afghan Aqcha Rug | 289 x 200 cm

This is an old (circa 1970) authentic Aqcha rug, handmade in Afghanistan. Previously owned, vintage, with some minor fading of pile in some areas. Still in very good condition. These types of rugs are one of the most traditional rugs made in Afghanistan. They have the very well-known and oft repeated "elephant foot" design which is a signature motif of these carpets. These rugs primarily come in a red and black colour, although newer colour themes of green and blue are available. These carpets are the staple rug of Afghan families and have passed the test of time in their timeless quality and appeal. Their charm is in their simplicity, and they also have matching runners of the same design and colour.

Due to the handmade nature of these rugs, some edges may not be straight.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the colours and shades may vary slightly due to the specific angle and lighting when photos are taken. This means that the carpet you receive may look slightly different from the picture. Additionally, carpets naturally have a "light" side and a "dark" side, which is determined by the orientation of the wool pile. This is a characteristic of carpets and should be taken into consideration when choosing a carpet for your space.
