This is a brand new authentic Soumak rug, handmade in Afghanistan. Afghan Soumak rugs often feature intricate floral designs. They are essentially higher quality kilims, with a raised or embossed pattern on the surface of the rug due to the unique weaving technique. Due to the flat weave design, these rugs are very durable and will last very long even in high traffic areas. The vivid design and colour themes also suit many room colour themes and layouts. They can also be used as tapestries and wall hangings, given they are lightweight.

Due to the handmade nature of these rugs, some edges may not be straight.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the colours and shades may vary slightly due to the specific angle and lighting when photos are taken. This means that the carpet you receive may look slightly different from the picture. Additionally, carpets naturally have a "light" side and a "dark" side, which is determined by the orientation of the wool pile. This is a characteristic of carpets and should be taken into consideration when choosing a carpet for your space.
