Handmade Indian Suzani Silk Cushion Cover | 48 x 45 cm

This is a brand new authentic Suzani cushion cover, handmade in India. This scatter cushion can be placed on sofa, chairs and beds in your living rooms, bedrooms and study rooms. These cushion covers have a embroidered design giving the floral motifs a raised texture which gives a unique appearance. They have been hand-stitched (suzani coming from the Persian word for 'sewing-needle') using silk thread which also provides the cushions with a natural lustre (shine). Common motifs include nature, floral and particularly pomegranates which symbolize the fertile agricultural culture of Central Asia. The backing of the cover is cotton with a zipper. The cushion filling is not included, and the cover can be used on any cushion inserts of minimum 45 x 45 cm.

Cushion Inserts: When choosing an insert to place inside these covers, it is ideal to use polyester inserts that are 2-4 cm larger than the cover, so that the cushion looks ‘full’ and all the edges and corners are filled in. Place the insert carefully to not break the zipper, by scrunching one side of the insert as you push it inside the cover.
